E-BIKE TOUR IN ABRUZZO WITH BORRACCE DI POESIA – ASD APS
I am Alessandro Ricci, a certified professional cycling tour guide certified by the Abruzzo Region. I come from the world of journalism, where I have been active for thirty years. I collaborate with specialized publications in the cycling industry and have authored several guides dedicated to cycling tourism in Abruzzo. I am an urban cyclist, a bicycle tourist. I oversee the Borracce di poesia-Bidons of poetry project, which combines two of my passions: cycling and poetry. An easy urban bike ride, suitable for everyone, along the city’s cycle path network. To discover Pescara from a different perspective, with a mix of interesting facts and moments of reading, accompanied by descriptions of the city written by travelers and writers who have depicted it over time. It offers an unusual and fresh outlook, encompassing the sea, the river, the numerous murals that adorn the city, and its art landmarks. Among the most thrilling moments of the tour is the view from the Ponte del Mare, Italy’s largest pedestrian and cycling bridge: on one side, the sea, and on the other, the Gran Sasso and the Maiella mountains. You’ve never seen the city like this before.

NORTH COAST OF TRABOCCHI
Embark on a scenic bike ride along the northern coast of Trabocchi, an enchanting stretch of the Adriatic coastline. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty of this region.
Starting from the town of Fossacesia Marina, our journey will take us along the renowned “Via Verde della Costa dei Trabocchi.” This cycling path, built on the former railway track, offers stunning views of the sea and a chance to explore the unique Trabocchi, traditional wooden fishing platforms that dot the coastline.
The route is suitable for all skill levels, with occasional sections of dirt and gravel roads as we venture into the Lecceta regional natural reserve and Punta Aderci regional natural reserve. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to admire the untouched nature, encounter diverse flora and fauna, and marvel at the panoramic vistas of the Abruzzo mountains.Our experienced guide will provide fascinating insights into the history, culture, and natural wonders of the area, making this a truly immersive and memorable experience. SOUTH COAST OF TRABOCCHI
Explore the enchanting South Coast of Trabocchi on a captivating bike ride along the Adriatic shoreline. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty and cultural heritage of this stunning region as you pedal through natural reserves and sandy and pebble beaches.
Starting from the Marina of ancient Histonium, now known as the city of Vasto, we will embark on a scenic journey along the renowned “Via Verde della Costa dei Trabocchi.” This cycling path, built on the former railway track, offers breathtaking views of the sea and the chance to admire the iconic Trabocchi, traditional fishing platforms that dot the coastline.
We’ll head towards the cycling path that passes through the Regional Natural Reserve of Marina di Vasto, home to one of the best-preserved dune environments along the entire Adriatic coast and we’ll pedal through former railway tunnels and hidden coves.
Then, we’ll continue along the former railway track of the “Via Verde,” on a section of the coast that is higher than the northern part, offering privileged views of the sea. Along the route, we’ll come across wild and unique beaches that are home to rare flora and provide a haven for migratory bird species. These timeless coves are perfect spots to pause and breathe in the sea air. As we pedal, the view opens up towards Punta Penna with its lighthouse – the second tallest in Italy – and extends to the regional natural reserve of Punta Aderci, with views encompassing both the sea and the Abruzzo mountains.
