SOUTH COAST OF TRABOCCHI
Explore the enchanting South Coast of Trabocchi on a captivating bike ride along the Adriatic shoreline. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty and cultural heritage of this stunning region as you pedal through natural reserves and sandy and pebble beaches.
Starting from the Marina of ancient Histonium, now known as the city of Vasto, we will embark on a scenic journey along the renowned “Via Verde della Costa dei Trabocchi.” This cycling path, built on the former railway track, offers breathtaking views of the sea and the chance to admire the iconic Trabocchi, traditional fishing platforms that dot the coastline.
We’ll head towards the cycling path that passes through the Regional Natural Reserve of Marina di Vasto, home to one of the best-preserved dune environments along the entire Adriatic coast and we’ll pedal through former railway tunnels and hidden coves.
Then, we’ll continue along the former railway track of the “Via Verde,” on a section of the coast that is higher than the northern part, offering privileged views of the sea. Along the route, we’ll come across wild and unique beaches that are home to rare flora and provide a haven for migratory bird species. These timeless coves are perfect spots to pause and breathe in the sea air. As we pedal, the view opens up towards Punta Penna with its lighthouse – the second tallest in Italy – and extends to the regional natural reserve of Punta Aderci, with views encompassing both the sea and the Abruzzo mountains.

Reservation required. Minimum two people. The tour with a guide takes place on state-of-the-art e-bikes, helmets are provided, and insurance coverage is included.
