When you realise your bicycle’s been nicked
Your chest tightens speech slurs like a heart-attack
You’d sell your soul to the devil in a tick
In order to ensure you get your bike back.

The bicycle is the metaphor of life
The bicycle is the metaphor of life.
Whilst on the flat, way down or uphill in strife
The question is choosing and changing the gears
Which impacts one’s behaviour over the years.
Here come the poems in english
Here you have the first poem in english! A way to reach more people and let them enjoy the project “Borracce di Poesia – Water bottles of poetry”. It was born in 2007 combining two passions: urban cycling and rhymes. The poems are spontaneous reflections by the project-creator who narrates the world from a saddle emphasizing the cyclist’s point of view. A way to recall the historical tradition and its poetical approach to cycling linking it to the modern role of bicycles in urban mobility.
So, this is my point of view when they ask me: “Why do you ride a bicycle?”
The need is not to demonstrate anything
Nor be anti-conformist; what that may bring.
It’s the sense of the freedom and liberty
Enjoyed with contemporary mobility.
We have t-shirts!
